Jamie Washington, 26 Jamie Washington, a 26-year-old black male, died Saturday, May 27, 2017, after a shooting on Gammill Street near Emmett Avenue, according to the Jackson Police Department. Police responded to the location just before 9 p.m. and found two men had been shot while standing near a residence.

Johnny Brown, 49 Johnny Brown, a 49-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, June 9, 2017, after an incident at the Just for Kids barbershop on Bailey Avenue, according to the Jackson Police Department. JPD Commander Tyree Jones said a man walked into Brown's barbershop and shot him multiple times.
